Kenosha native, Anna Fermin, and her band, Trigger Gospel, return to Public Brewing for their first hometown concert of the year.

Anna Fermin’s Trigger Gospel is an all-original Americana band based in Chicago, Illinois. Together over 20 years (with a few breaks for families, babies & other projects) they boast 6 critically-acclaimed and well-received releases. They have toured throughout the U.S. and Europe many times, sharing the stage with an impressive roster of musicians including Johnny Cash, Steve Earle, Joe Ely, Robbie Fulks, David Crosby, Delbert McClinton, Neko Case, and many more. The band’s road-tested history also includes innumerable stops at Cracker Barrel, a goat carcass in a cooler, the drummer (Paul) being left behind at a rest stop on the New Jersey Turnpike, too many shots of tequila, and an indecent proposal at a biker bar somewhere in Southern Illinois. Join Anna, in her hometown, and the band for their first concert of the year. Hosted by Public Craft Brewing in their new and state-of-the-art performance space.

Due to the 8pm being sold out, we added a special "happy hour" show for folks just getting out of work and wanting an earlier night out! Anna Fermin’s Trigger Gospel is an all-original Americana band based in Chicago, Illinois. Biography

Named after an old Western novel, Anna Fermin’s TRIGGER GOSPEL reflects a spirited sound that intertwines hometown country and rock & roll with “a strong melodic-pop appeal.” (Holly Rushakoff, The Octopus)

Formed in 1997, Anna Fermin’s TRIGGER GOSPEL has garnered the attention and respect of critics and music fans alike, hooking audiences with their memorable songs and rousing live shows. In the y
ears this Chicago-based band has been together, they’ve shared the stage with an impressive roster of musicians including Johnny Cash, Steve Earle, Joe Ely, Robbie Fulks, David Crosby, Delbert McClinton, Neko Case and many more.

The eclectic influences of her bandmates, who include Paul Bivans on drums & percussion, Michael Krayniak on bass, Andon Davis on guitars and Alton Smith on keyboard, have become the perfect compliment to Fermin’s stunning originals, "that smartly place her voice where it belongs - front and center.” (Monica Eng/Chicago Tribune)


ABOUT “GO”
 
 
Simply titled, GO, the latest CD from Anna Fermin's Trigger Gospel showcases another collection of memorable originals from one of Chicago's most beloved hometown bands. The follow up to the critically acclaimed, Oh The Stories We Hold, GO is the bands first studio album in three years and has been released in the US on Anna Fermin's own label, Sighlow Music.

Recorded at Chicago's Rax Trax studios and produced by Jay O'Rourke (The Insiders, The Juleps) and Scott Ligon (The Heatersons, Kelly Hogan, Nora O'Connor), GO features eight songs penned by the bands front-woman Anna Fermin along with a spirited rendition of "She" written by the late Gram Parsons and Chris Ethridge. 

This recording also features the formidable talent and influence of Scott Ligon on keyboards & guitars. Long time band mates, Paul Bivans on drums & percussion and Michael Krayniak on bass complete the band’s truly original & eclectic sound.
